On July 6 the Holy Father received the Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, Fr. John Berg, in his library at the Apostolic Palace. Fr. Berg had the opportunity to speak privately with the Holy Father and to thank him for all that he has done for the FSSP and for the Church.
After hearing about the work being done at the seminaries and apostolates of the Fraternity of St. Peter, Benedict XVI encouraged its members “to remain ever faithful”.
Following this meeting the Holy Father greeted Fr. Bisig and the other founders of the Fraternity of St. Peter who had come for the occasion and imparted his blessing upon them and all of the members of the FSSP.
The meeting took place on the 21st anniversary date of the audience of the Founders with John Paul II at the Apostolic Palace.

Lundi 6 Juillet, le Saint-Père a reçu, dans sa bibliothèque privée au Palais Apostolique, l’abbé John Berg, Supérieur Général de la Fraternité Sacerdotale Saint-Pierre. L’abbé Berg a eu l’occasion de s’entretenir seul à seul avec le Saint-Père et de le remercier pour tout ce que celui-ci a fait pour la FSSP et pour toute l’Église.
Après avoir pris connaissance du travail réalisé dans les séminaires et les apostolats de la Fraternité Saint-Pierre, le Pape Benoît XVI a encouragé ses membres à « rester toujours fidèle ».
A la suite de cet entretien, le Saint-Père a salué l'abbé Bisig et les autres fondateurs de la Fraternité Saint-Pierre qui étaient venus pour l’occasion et leur a donné sa bénédiction, qu’il a étendue à tous les membres de la FSSP.
Cette rencontre a eu lieu exactement 21 ans après l’audience des fondateurs avec le Pape Jean-Paul II au Palais Apostolique.

Am 6. Juli empfing der Heilige Vater den Generaloberen der Priesterbruderschaft St. Petrus, P. John Berg, in der Privatbibliothek des Vatikanpalastes. P. Berg hatte die Gelegenheit privat mit dem Heiligen Vater zu sprechen und ihm für alles zu danken, was er für die Priesterbruderschaft St. Petrus und für die Kirche getan hat.
P. Berg unterrichtete den Heiligen Vater über die Arbeit in den Seminarien und den Apostolaten der Priesterbruderschaft St. Petrus und Papst Benedikt XVI. bestärkte P. Berg und alle Mitglieder der Bruderschaft „stets treu zu bleiben“.
Im Anschluss an dieses Gespräch begrüßte der Heilige Vater die Gründer der Priesterbruderschaft St. Petrus, darunter auch P. Josef Bisig, die für dieses Treffen nach Rom gereist waren und erteilte ihnen und allen Mitgliedern der Bruderschaft seinen Segen.
Dieses Treffen ereignete sich am 21. Jahrestag der Audienz der Gründer mit Papst Johannes Paul II. im Vatikanpalast.
