Spirituality Year for Priests
In his Apostolic Letter of June 16, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI has declared a “Year for Priests” beginning and closing with the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus 2009 and 2010. Taking the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of the Curé of Ars, the Holy Father has said that the year is “meant to deepen the commitment of all priests to interior renewal for the sake of a more forceful and incisive witness to the Gospel in today’s world.”
